Shillong, by itself is really cold during this time of the year. For people like me who’ve come back to Shillong after the winter break from places like Chennai, it feels colder. Temperature dipped to MINUS ONE DEGREE CELSIUS last night. Toothpaste, hair oil, handwash, etc. have almost frozen.
Got a mail from a Term-III teacher today morning with subject, “New Year greetings and FIRST CASE STUDY”, a gentle reminder that Term-III is beginning tomorrow.
Dinner on Fridays are pathetic; invariably, everyone orders for a Domino’s or Subway or goes out to eat. Today, for a change, I made toasted bread and ate it along with Sauce, Ghee, Kurkure and Aloo Bhujia, and it was filling. Planning to make this our regular Friday dinner.
Got a whole lot of food items (Puli Kachal, Lemon Rice mix, Podis, Rava Laddus, Thenkozhal, etc.) from home which’ll last for at least another month.
Today, Dhoni surpassed the great Adam Gilchrist to hold the record for most number of sixes by a wicketkeeper in ODI cricket, taking his tally to 150. He wasn’t quite able to take India through today, though (Ind vs Eng, First ODI, Rajkot). Nevertheless.
Came across this interesting book, “Conversations with Mani Ratnam” with a foreword by A.R. Rahman. I just wanted to read the foreword by Thala, but ended up reading the book for more than two hours. Very well written by Baradwaj Rangan.( http://baradwajrangan.wordpress.com/)
